Summary
This position is within Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D), Office of Research and Development (ORD), at VA Central Office in Washington, DC.
Duties
- Analyze the needs, strategic plans and goals of HSR&D and make recommendations for new directions, initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Leads within ORD the development, refinement and implementation of one or more research portfolios.
- Collaborates with colleagues on issues requiring health services research expertise.
- Applies knowledge of health services research and researchers to strengthen scientific review process.
- Manages select research portfolios.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all programmatic and scientific issues related to proposed, planned, ongoing and completed activities in the assigned portfolios.
- Directs the development of studies in the portfolio area which will advance scientific knowledge in the portfolio areas.
