Summary
The Deputy Network Director (DND) performs a variety of duties in an extremely complex Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), an integrated health care system for Veterans spanning a broad geographic area. They are the VISN’s principal extension of the Network Director’s authority, with responsibility for assisting the Network Director and staying abreast of those tasks and issues the Network Director is working on, while focusing on guiding and coordinating operational elements of the VISN.
Duties
- Responsible for taking the lead in coordinating and developing stakeholder support and resourcing to meet the networks programs and objectives.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, 2 evaluating and improving medical, administrative and providing operational support of a health care that administers a variety of medical care and treatment.
- Makes finial decision in identifying sources of funding relative to the complex and abundant services offered.
- Exercises delegated authority for the executive level management in coordination with the Network Director.
