VA seeking Health System Specialist

The Healthcare Operations Center (HOC) is an office reporting directly under the Secretary for Health for Operations. The HOC serves as the centralized operational hub for Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) leadership. The Director of Integration and Implementation reports to the Executive Director, HOC, in VHA, VA Central Office, Washington, DC. The position is a key member of an agile senior management team.

Duties:

  • The senior member of a diverse, multi-professional team, is a recognized expert in the full scope of healthcare operations project management, works independently and has extensive experience with program analysis and the design and execution of program deployment strategies involving complex multi-site, multi-source sites.
  • Make independent decisions about the appropriate allocation of time and effort to individual and collaborative projects and to keep the Executive Director, Principal Deputy Under Secretary and Under Secretary informed at all times should there be any issues or failures within the plans leading to a lack of execution according to established timelines.
  • The selectee is also responsible for advising and assisting the Executive Director with managerial and program management aspects of the office including planning, budgeting and control mechanisms.
  • The selectee participates in departmental policy and planning deliberations and contributes significantly to the management decision-making process through team work, innovation and coordination with other senior members to ensure goals are met within the office.
