“Mr. William J. Tinston serves as the Program Executive Officer for the Program Executive Office, Defense Healthcare Management Systems (PEO DHMS). The mission of PEO DHMS is to transform the delivery of healthcare and advance data sharing through a modernized electronic health record for service members, veterans, and their families. Mr. Tinston provides direction to the following program offices: the Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Interagency Program Office, the DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization Program Management Office (PMO), and the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems PMO.
As Program Executive Officer, Mr. Tinston oversees the deployment via wave model of the DoD’s modernized electronic health record (EHR), MHS GENESIS. Additionally, he works with the VA and United States Coast Guard to assist their transition to the same EHR as the DoD, insuring interoperability and seamless care for beneficiaries.
