G2X TAKE: The acquisition of this top rated digital strategy and technology consulting firm early last year had many Fed Health IT companies licking their chops as they hoped to take advantage of customer concerns. But the move only seemed to strengthen the position for Sapient as they secured a number of big time wins across HHS, including a multiple year BPA to support NCI and Cancer.gov; a $100M BPA to support the NIH Center for Information Technology; a $150M BPA to provide IT Support Services to the FDA CTP; and a key sub role on a $250M BPA to provide web support services to the CDC. With these types of vehicles in place, it should come as no surprise that Sapient is ramping up capture resources to meet impending task order needs.

The recent addition of a new COO and EVP, Eric Wieman, combined with this BD executive job announcement, are indicative of CEO, Kathy Freeland and A-Tek’s intentions to grow their Federal Health business in 2016.
