The DOI Office of Wild Fires (OWF) has modified the contract with SAIC to provide data support services to the Integrated Reporting of Wildland Fire Information (IRWIN) integration service, which is intended to enable an “end-to-end” fire reporting capability to be displayed in multiple formats to include a geospatial common operational picture. SAIC was awarded the original contract which is in support of the IRWIN data integration. The SAIC team already possesses the crucial knowledge and expertise under Task 2 and the addition of work for this task can be easily implemented without additional rework and training from a new vendor. Vendors other than SAIC could not acquire the necessary skill set and knowledge in time to provide the needed support for the upcoming fire season.
The period of performance is for the additional work is 23 April 2019 to 30 September 2019.
