This position is in the Office of Electronic Research Administration (eRA), Office of Extramural Research (OER), Office of the Director (OD), NIH. The eRA serves as the focal point for electronic research administration, reporting and analysis, customer support, and project services and for the development and Implementation of the eRA systems.
Duties
- As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist some of your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Managing the eRA Commons and IMPACII systems, which provide IT solutions and support for the full life cycle of grants administration for the NIH Grant business line of business application.
- Representing the OER/eRA perspective on eRA software development teams and working groups that are focused on identifying and evaluating new and emerging information security and assurance methodologies.
- Identifying and initiating actions to evaluate new and emerging information assurance and cybersecurity defense practices with the potential to advance NIH’s mission.
- Reviewing, revising and recommending changes in the direction of eRA strategic IT plans in response to new and emerging practices involving cybersecurity and assurance.
- Developing reports and recommendations on new policies, processes for implementing procedures, practices, techniques and strategies for eRA information resource management planning and cybersecurity activities.
- Advising on the conduct of internal reviews of IT security management information programs to identify needs, business process requirements and organizational infrastructure including staffing and financial commitments.
