…Duties
- The Deputy Executive Director, HR Operations is organizationally assigned to the Workforce Management and Consulting (WMC) Office in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- The incumbent provides executive leadership to VHA senior managers and healthcare network and medical center directors in the areas of human resources, recruitment, staffing, onboarding, classification, position management, employee suitability, security, processing, records management, employee relations, labor relations and employee benefits.
- The incumbent is part of the WMC Executive Leadership team and directs in setting VA and VHA workforce development strategy for health care delivery programs and initiatives that could impact the achievement of organizational goals relevant to the health care delivery services and access to care provided to Veterans across the nation.
- Serves as a principal advisor to VHA, and VA components, on human resources initiatives, healthcare infrastructures, healthcare administrative procedures, and occupational policies covered under Title 5 and Title 38.
- Oversees and directs the formulation and execution of long-range, strategic plans for the management of personnel: staff management, plans and resources, and human resource policy and programs.
