DHA starts hunt for Director of Contracting

Duties – Provides oversight of contracting initiatives; establishes and implements policies and ensures contracting practices comply with applicable laws and regulations.  Maintains awareness of overall procurement workloads and program direction for the Agency and facilitates timely planning of pricing actions and contracting strategies.  Oversees development of acquisition plans; performance and analysis of market surveys to meet acquisition programs requirements; and advises on highly complex research and development, pre-production, production, sustainment, and acquisition of services.

Reviews specific cost proposal instructions to offerors in the pre-solicitation phase and provides guidance to contracting officers in responding to close-related issues/questions during the solicitation phase.  This includes advising on pricing, policy matters, and financial aspects of multi-billion dollar acquisition programs and acquisition of services.  Structures contracting incentives to meet Agency mission requirements and implement Under Secretary of Defense of Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Better Buying Power Initiatives.

G2X TAKE: Stacy Cummings, the Program Executive Officer for the Defense Healthcare Management Systems (DHMS) posted word late yesterday that “DHA is recruiting for a senior executive position.” and to “Please share with your networks!”, so we are doing just that.
