The Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Information Officer for IT Budget and Finance leads and formulates the strategic financial direction, planning, policy, processes, technology systems, and day-to-day accounting programs for the Office of Information Technology; and is a principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for preparation, development and analysis of the IT budget for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Duties
- The Chief Finance Officer is in the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) and reports to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Technology, with responsibilities that include, but not limited to:
- Driving VA’s information technology financial planning in accordance with the President’s Management Agenda, legislative requirements and in the national interest of Veterans and their families; working in concert with VA’s CFO.
- Serve as senior functional authority to testify before Congress or sub-committees, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and other stakeholders on behalf of the Office of Information Technology.
- Lead continuous evaluation of both short-term and long-term financial strategies to ensure achievement of CIO priorities and Department objectives.
