The Executive Director, Acquisition is assigned to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) Office. The Executive Director serves as the subject matter expert and principal advisor to the Executive Director, AT&L, the Under Secretary for Health, Deputy Under Secretary for Health, Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Support, key VHA senior officials and Veteran Integrated Service Network.
Duties
The Executive Director, Acquisition reports to the Executive Director, Acquisition Technology and Logistics (AT&L). The responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff assigned to major programs of national scope, interest and significance as well as all participating organizations in planning, directing, integrating, aggregating, consolidating and executing all aspects of the Acquisition Program.
- Responsible for and manages through 3 Regional Procurement Offices and 18 Network Contracting Offices.
- Formulates and provides strategies, broad policy, and guidance governing development and execution for acquisition of mission critical Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) capabilities.
- Represents the AT&L to all major internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, VHA, VA Community, national agencies, Congress, Office of the Inspector General, Governmental Accountability Office and industry organizations.
