“The Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO) will be expected to provide thoughtful, balanced and insightful recommendations and strategies to develop, enhance and promulgate OIS and OIT goals and objectives to support the VA mission. This includes, but it not limited to:
- Providing subject matter expertise on information security topics including best practices and cybersecurity and privacy standards;
- Leveraging OIS activities to enable VA objectives and OIS priorities;
- Applying expertise in cybersecurity policy and processes to translate these policies and directives for the development and operational communities to ensure compliance with security regulations and mandates;
- Participating in and providing expert technical advice on all phases of short, mid, and long-range planning of organization cybersecurity and management activities, including organizational re-design and impacts associated with legislative and regulatory changes;
- Providing technical guidance on cybersecurity program objectives, development strategies, and direction;
- Continuously evaluates OIS cybersecurity program to ensure organizational objectives and goals are met.”
