“The VISN 10 Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (CPS) – Informatics Program Manager is part of a VHA team charged with supporting the goals of electronic health record modernization, leads VISN level and national clinical informatics infrastructure for VHA, advances VISN and national solutions for managing workflow and knowledge in clinical systems, participates as an Informatics Lead in VISN 10 EHR deployment and Informatics activities to ensure that strong practices throughout the VISN/VHA community.”
Responsibilities:
- The subject matter expert in clinical/ pharmacy informatics and health information technology (IT)
- Serves as the primary informatics lead to the VISN 10 EHR Deployment Team, Pharmacy Leadership, VISN Pharmacy Executive (VPE), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and other key VISN staff.
- Demonstrate expert effective leadership of both small groups and large organizations.
- Demonstrate understanding of the VISN 10 organizational structure and the role EHR deployment/informatics plays within this structure.
- Ensures that the Informatics’ mission is met while operating in accordance with VHA policies, facility policies, applicable Network Policies, and standards of federal, professional, and accrediting agencies external to the VHA.
- Coordinates the collection, analysis, and evaluation of data to achieve optimal utilization of available resources to include funding, assigned Full-time Employee Equivalent (FTEE), space, equipment, and support purchases.
- Organizes and develops information to provide a solid base upon which VISN EHR deployment and Informatics can derive effective data-driven decisions, in order to anticipate and meet the needs of their customers, and goals of the facilities and Network.
