Dr. Keith L. Salzman Joins d8 Group, to provide CMIO level subject matter expertise

“d8 Group is excited to welcome Dr. Keith Salzman as a consultant to support out clients. He will be able to provide CMIO (Chief Medical Information Officer) level subject matter expertise, particularly in the Federal Health IT space.”

“Several contractors need such expertise as they pursue and respond to the growing number of opportunities in the Federal Health space but are hard-pressed to find such specialized talent to bring inhouse on a short-term basis. The addition of Dr. Salzman to our team presents government contractors with another option,” said d8 Group’s Senior Founding Partner, Reeba Magulick.

“Dr. Salzman is a physician, leader and innovator with more than 24 years of success delivering quality care to patients and pioneering informatics in the U.S. Army. Currently he owns Salzman HCIT Consulting, LLC where he primarily advises for DoD and VA Health IT projects. Dr. Salzman previously worked at IBM as Chief Medical Information Officer for GBS-Federal on April 24, 2014. While at IBM he shaped and supported Healthcare IT in GBS-Federal. Dr. Salzman was the first CMIO at CACI for the Federal Sector after retiring from active duty in the U.S. Army. While working at the Madigan Army Medical Center as the CMIO, he established the premier Informatics Division in the Military Health System. Under his leadership, the Madigan Informatics Division grew from a team of 10 to more than 100 with a budget of $3 million to $6 million in over six years. Dr. Salzman served 22 years of active duty in the U.S. Army where his roles included Team Leader, Professional Filler Surgeon at Tripler Army Medical Center; First Surgeon for the Initial/Interim Brigade Combat team; Deputy Commander for Outlying Clinics in Heidelberg, Germany; and interim Deputy Commander for Clinical Services in both Kosovo and Heidelberg. He completed Family Medicine training at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center and the Faculty Development Fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, a Doctor of Medicine from Mayo Medical School, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington. He is Board Certified in Clinical Informatics (2014-2024) and was Board Certified in Family Medicine (1992-2014).”
