The Chief Engineer will guide an agile systems integration and engineering support services team that supports defense health interoperability products and DoD’s mission to deploy an industry-leading electronic health record (EHR) system. The engineer will offer technical leadership to a team of 20+ application engineers, system administrators, database administrators, and software testers; be a principle point of contact for technical Government resources; work closely with technical resources to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues; and give enterprise-level engineering guidance, direction, and recommendations to the client. Candidate must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines and visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as a senior technical lead for 20+ application engineers, system administrators, database administrators, and software testers
- Using experience to give technical direction to team resources, help resources resolve complex technical issues, and guide technical operations across the DMIX program
- Partnering with other senior team leaders (e.g., Program Manager, Project Manager, and Chief Architect) to direct and manage resources, adopt and tailor Agile Scrum methodologies, and support a positive, forward-leaning work environment
- Making quick technical decisions in a fast-paced, highly visible environment and guiding engineers in solving technical problems and removing roadblocks
- Leading discussions, work sessions, and planning meetings with client engineering leadership and other contractors
