The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Supervisory Healthcare Engineer (Chief). The Supervisory Healthcare Engineer will function in Engineering Service.
- Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and management process for Service Line programs, which include setting qualitative and quantitative standards.
- Develops and provides the Executive Leadership Team and the clinical staff information on the methods, techniques, and procedures necessary to integrate the Engineering, Maintenance, Capital Management, and other Engineering programs into the mission of the Medical Center.
- Oversee the Joint Commission (JC) Environment of Care Programs for Utility Systems Management, Safety, Life Safety, and Medical Equipment Management for both this Medical Center and all Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
- Full administrative and managerial responsibilities for planning, staffing, budgeting, developing, and effectively managing the total Engineering Program, which includes: all planning, design, and supervision of project renovation, modernization, and construction work; Bio-Medical program, energy conservations services; and all maintenance and repair of building, grounds, building service equipment, utility systems.
- Provide professional and technical guidance, direction and review of assigned programs, including professional engineering work in several disciplines such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, biomedical engineering, fire safety and safety engineering. Incumbent develops Medical Center policies, procedures and resource allocations for assigned programs.
- Review the need for projects, defines their scope, determines resources required, provides cost benefit analyses, arranges for and/or produces detailed designs, and monitors progress to assure quality and timeliness of the finished projects.
