Summary
The candidate serves as the Assistant Director, Program Management Office to the Program Management Officer within Education Service under the Program Management Officer. Under the guidance of the Program Management Officer, the Assistant Director candidate provides oversight and leadership to the Governance & Integration, Business Architecture, Release & Configuration Management, Policy and Procedures, and Strategic Communications Teams, contributing to the mission of the Service.
Duties
Specific duties include:
- Provides insight and guidance for contractors to support application development, maintenance and testing which includes input on the development of proposals, evaluation, and feedback on performance.
- Oversees development of business requirements, rules, and data documentation. He/she directs the methods to accomplish project objectives, ensure VA policy, rules, developed software or applications support VBA business needs and documentation requirements.
- Oversees the technical planning of new and enhanced applications, implementation, and management of the plans to ensure they support the overall mission of the business line. Utilizes modern management, automated processing techniques and applies knowledge of VA and VBA programs, organizations, and operations.
- Proactively analyzes the business process, policy, data-related problems, effectively mitigating business, resource, and system risks while mentoring others in system analysis skills.
- Supports ongoing day-to-day leadership on operations support matters, and acts for the Program Management Officer as designated, with full authority to commit Education to any course of action within program jurisdiction. Shares responsibility for setting and implementing procedures and on designing systems operations.
