NIH seeks Deputy CISO/Deputy Director of the NIH Information Security Program

The NIH Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO)/Deputy Director of the NIH Information Security Program’s responsibilities include 24/7 continuous monitoring and incident response; development and implementation of information security policies and standards; assessments and authorization of systems and applications; promotion of information security awareness; and coordination and oversight of information security audit activities and projects.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of program goals, policies, objectives, strategies, and procedures for agency-wide information security.  
  • Lead a high performing team of Federal and contract staff in support of NIH-wide information security activities.  
  • Perform risk management analysis and assessments for complex systems and environments, identify new developments and advanced techniques in the information security field, determine applicability to NIH, and direct staff to implement, as appropriate.  
  • Collaborate with senior management and members of the NIH scientific community to implement security policy and controls.  
  • Assess and identify major agency-wide cross-cutting security initiatives and provide leadership and direction of these activities.
