“NewWave Telecom and Technologies, Inc. (“NewWave”), announces the hiring of veteran Security Advocate Theodore Gates as it establishes a Zero Trust Architectural Practice and Consultancy to support the Biden Administration’s “Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity.”
As the current American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) Cybersecurity Communications Chair and Project Manager of Zero Trust Networks and as former Senior Security Engineer for Cisco Systems U.S. Public Sector, Gates brings leading-edge cybersecurity experience to NewWave’s portfolio of products and services.
“Zero Trust is a game-change for how we approach cybersecurity in our industry,” says Patrick Munis, CEO of NewWave. “Bringing in Ted Gates and establishing a Zero Trust Practice allows us to help our customers benefit from that change.”
In addition to working extensively across the U.S. Federal Public Sector, Gates has also worked directly with the Federal Executive CIO Council, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and industry research consultants Gartner and Forrester.
“’Zero Trust Architecture’ really means a security model, a set of system design principles, and a coordinated cybersecurity and system management strategy based on an acknowledgement that threats exist both inside and outside traditional network boundaries,” says Gates. “NewWave is poised to bring that model, design principles and management strategy to its customers. I look forward to making that happen.”
