Notice ID: 75N91023Q00183

Description

The NCI is seeking a Contractor to administer NCI STEP. NCI STEP is designed with the mission to empower and create more opportunities for small businesses, especially underrepresented small businesses, to improve the lives of those impacted by cancer. NCI envisions NCI STEP as a ~16- week program comprising 3 stages.

Stage 1: Customer Discovery (6 weeks). An instructor with prior NIH experience will lead entrepreneurship training and customer discovery practicum that requires participants to conduct at least 20-25 interviews during Weeks 1-4. On Week 5, each participant will prepare a 5-minute pitch presentation that will be evaluated for Phase I SBIR/STTR readiness to transition to Stage 2. Participants deemed ready will transition to Stage 2 during Week 6.

Stage 2: Application Preparation and Submission (10 weeks). During Weeks 7-16, Coaches will provide one-on-one structured training and customized assistance to participants to receive guidance and feedback on registration procedures, timelines, grant writing techniques, budget calculation, and other items to enable participants to ultimately submit Phase I SBIR/STTR proposals that are deemed complete, compliant, competitive, and responsive to all review criteria at the end of the NCI STEP.

Stage 3: Post-Submission Support (5 hours). Coaches will provide up to 5 hours of consulting to participants who successfully submitted a Phase I SBIR/STTR application for up to 1 month after receiving their summary statement. Post-submission support can include summary statement review, introduction document review, JIT process, etc.
