CMS taps Deputy Director (Interim)

Ricardo “Ric” Melendez, a US Government Federal career civilian employee armed with over 20 years of experience, has taken on a new role as Deputy Director (Interim) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Ricardo brings skills in Team Management, Change Management, Supervisory Skills, and Agile Project Management. He also has expertise in the Advance Planning Process (APD), Medicaid Enterprise Technology Architecture (MITA 2 & 3), CMS certification models (MECT, MEET, SMC, OBC), Federal procurement regulations for IT systems and the FNS Handbook 901.

Prior roles include:

  • Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) State Officer – CMS
  • Management Analyst at USDA/FNS State Systems Office – USDA
  • Health Information Systems Analyst – CMS
