HHS IHS seeking Chief of Contracting Office (CCO)

Summary

Serves as Chief of Contracting Office (CCO), Sup Contract Officer and Director of Contracting for the Nashville Area who provides program and policy guidance regarding acquisition strategy, procurement contracts, and participates in the resolution of controversial or critical contracting problems. Incumbent exercises judgment in taking independent action and assuming technical responsibility for the full procurement cycle. Work is reviewed for timely and effective accomplishment of objectives.

Duties

  • Directs, coordinates, and oversees work of the division.
  • Manages, plans, develops, and directs assigned contracting activities in owned, direct Federal, and federally assisted projects within NAIHS.
  • Assigns, directs, establishes, and controls the work of contracting professionals and administrative/clerical personnel performing work of substantive nature.
  • Provides guidance, instruction, and assistance to personnel located at field stations and service units that have delegated authority.
