CDC seeking Health Communications Officer

Duties

As a Health Communications Officer, you will:

  • Serve as the lead strategic advisor for communication and marketing in the programmatic area; coordinate and/or manage all communication and marketing activities within the organization.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for communication and marketing research, evaluation and practice, and ensures the use of sound research as the foundation for communication and marketing program and projects, using the most current behavioral, communication, and marketing science-based applications.
  • As the lead for communication and marketing, provide critical expertise, management, and oversight to a wide range of complex and inter-related activities.
  • Serve as the lead for integrating the communication of public health protection, promotion and disease prevention messages on topics for promotion to internal and external audiences, including setting policies and procedures to maximize the delivery and impact of health information to community, state, national and international partners.
  • Serve as lead for ensuring accurate and accessible translation of complex scientific concepts and data for use by CDC partners, private organizations, communities, the public, and the media, and provides leadership in identifying and implementing systems and approaches that facilitate accurate, timely, and effective translation (including strategic dissemination of information through Web, entertainment-education, partners, community-based organizations, etc.).
  • Lead and direct a comprehensive nationally and internationally recognized health communication and marketing program that integrates multi-disciplinary programs of research, surveillance, and prevention activities to maximize the delivery and impact of health information.
