The contractor shall supply all required labor, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, transportation and certifications necessary to maintain medical record Release of Information (ROI) services for the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) which includes: Palo Alto Division, Menlo Park Division, Livermore Division, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Services provided by the contractor shall be on-site defined as VAPAHCS owned or leased property as well as off-site defined as contractor own property.
The Release of Information Service (ROI): Contractor shall provide experienced Medico/Legal Release of Information (ROI) representatives to work at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System offices. Requires NACI low level/OPM Security Background Investigations and Personal Identification Verification (PIV). Staff will work on-site at the following VAPAHCS tertiary locations: Palo Alto Division, Menlo Park Division, Livermore Division, and San Jose CBOC and Monterey CBOC. See detailed requirement in paragraph 9.
The period of performance is for one year: August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2024
- Objective: Release of Information is the act of reviewing and processing requests for patient information that pertain to The Privacy Act of 1974, Title 5 United States Code (U.S.C.) 552a; Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Claims Confidentiality Statute, 38 U.S.C. § 5701; Confidentiality of Drug Abuse, Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Infection and Sickle Cell Anemia Health Records, 38 U.S.C. § 7332; and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Title 45 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 160 and 164.
