Columbia, MD, June 23, 2023 – The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded Sparksoft Corporation with a prime contract to provide Red Hat OpenShift consulting services for preliminary deployment to the National Institute Aging (NIA) Network Infrastructure Section (NIS). The NIA, one of the 27 Institutes and Centers of NIH, leads the federal government in conducting and supporting research on aging and the health and well-being of older people. The Institute seeks to understand the nature of aging and the aging process, and diseases and conditions associated with growing older, to extend the healthy, active years of life. The NIA pursues this mission by funding extramural research at universities and medical centers across the United States and around the world; maintaining an active communications and outreach program; and conducting a vibrant intramural research program at NIA laboratories in Baltimore and Bethesda, Maryland. Alongside NIA grantees, the NIAs intramural and extramural scientists conduct and support broad scientific efforts focusing on aging research, age-related diseases, and supporting the health and wellbeing of older adults, extending the healthy, active years of life. Under this contract, Sparksoft will architect and deploy a Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine cluster for a development environment to meet NIA’s needs with a solution to be deployed on virtual servers in a Vmware vCenter environment. Sparksoft will perform services that support the NIA objectives through the following tasks:

- Storage
- Networking
- Dependencies
- Documentation
- Project Management
