This position is in the Immediate Office of the Director, NIH, and reports to the Director, NIH. This organization supports the NIH Director’s and Principal Deputy Director’s responsiveness, decision-making, meeting participation, and official records. Duties
- Directs and coordinates the strategic, integrative, responsive, administrative, and operational functions of the office and acts as principal and expert advisor to the NIH Director and Principal Deputy Director on sensitive and high-priority information integration and management, and in communicating on behalf of NIH with other government agencies; international organizations; academic and scientific organizations’; diplomatic leaders; congressional offices; and the general public; and on all aspects of ES programs, leading and directing the ES team in accomplishing a wide and diverse array of services for executive portfolio services, executive correspondence operations, records management and official files, and ES program integration and business operations, supporting the agency at the highest level, and on information management programs and policies.
- Provides senior leadership and direction to ES and is responsible for the comprehensive management of a wide variety of ES functions, consisting of executive portfolio services; executive correspondence operations; records management and official files; and program integration.
- Directs the programs and functions of ES through multiple subordinate supervisors and performs the full range of supervisory and managerial functions for ES, and oversees the work of the ES staff, which consists of approximately 25 policy analysts, records management and government information specialists, and program integration/business operations staff.
- Oversees and directs Executive Portfolio Services, which manages the NIH Director’s and Principal Deputy Director’s email correspondence, invitations, reports, and meeting and briefing materials, including authoring certain responses. Executive Portfolio Services performs a broad range of functions to support the NIH Director and Principal Deputy Director.
- Oversees and directs Executive Correspondence Operations, which manages all written communications and clearance requirements to, from, and on behalf of the NIH Director and Principal Deputy Director.
