Duties
The Director, Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics will:
- Serve as the recognized expert in data science and principal advisor to the CDC Director
- Lead the development of policy and objectives, appraise programs, and initiate requirements for scientific forecasting and modeling to assure mission accomplishment
- Direct, design, plan, and oversees models and forecasts, studies, surveys, and investigations
- Plan, evaluate and manage the center’s programs, including the development, maintenance, and utilization of national and international scientific data to improve identification, investigation, diagnosis, prevention, and control of public health concerns.
- Represent the agency with top CDC leadership, and in other agencies of the Federal Government, as well as state, academic, private, and international organizations to provide critical interface for programs and objectives and to coordinate and resolve challenges relative to collaborative projects and commitment of resources in support of such projects…
