“The Chief Operations Officer (COO) plays a significant role at the Fort Yuma Health Center in developing, designing, maintaining and improving systems to deliver the best health care services to the American Indians and Alaska Natives in the service unit area. The COO will be required to have a team focused approach to work with his/her peers to align clinic operations with the facility’s overall strategic vision. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.”
Responsibilities:
- The Chief Operations Officer is expected to participate in all Executive level team management functions, such as Governing Board, Tribal Councils, Tribal Health Committees, Tribal Elder Committees, and other assigned speaking engagements.
- Performs a full range of highly complex executive/ administrative duties and exercise full line supervisory responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling overall clinic operations through peer relationships/subordinate supervisors and staff members.
- In the absence of the Chief Executive Officer assumes the leadership role in the Acting capacity for the Fort Yuma service unit.
- Provides the development and administration of resources as the financial officer; forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Analyzes and interprets operation data to provide the service unit staff with adequate information, proper objectives and analysis and qualified advice upon to which to base program decisions.
