General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded a $110 million Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) task order by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The contract has a six-month base period, four one-year option periods and one six-month option period.
The VA provides the country’s largest healthcare system, serving more than 9 million veterans. Under this contract, GDIT will provide 24/7/365 Tier 1 IT and technical support services to more than 500,000 VA personnel at all VA locations nationwide. The company will also implement remote automation tools and knowledge management platforms to support self-service requests and improve customer experience.
