“The Battelle Health Business Unit is seeking a Senior Director for Business Development, Health to drive new business growth. The Senior Director for Business Development, Health is responsible for front-end business development, aligning the Battelle health strategy to opportunity identification, pipeline management, and pursuit.”
Responsibilities:
- Identification of government opportunities to build pipeline for growth into adjacent accounts across government health civilian and military accounts
- Management of $2B pipeline to include account strategy and management – client engagement, external engagement, win strategy, funding behavior, contract mechanisms, competitive knowledge, market awareness, capability and expertise alignment to met and unmet government needs
- Create new government programs for cutting edge Battelle health R&D across precision health use cases
- Develop and maintain an extensive network of relationships with existing and potential Battelle clients
- Drive growth through quality execution of pursuit, capture, and proposal with commitment to voice-of-the-customer
- Participate in the continuous evolution of the health strategy by contributing real-time client and market knowledge
- Maintain close partnership and collaboration with program leadership and subject matter experts to align existing capabilities and new research and development (R&D) to client needs and wants
Requirements:
- At least 15 years of experience government business development in civilians and/or military market spaces
- Proven track record of identifying and winning new business for an organization with $200M+ annual sales
- Experience with, and approach for, managing a $1B+ pipeline of opportunities
- Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the Battelle health strategy
- Existing network of clients and collaborators in science and technology work
- Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools/platforms
- Adaptive, decisive persuasive, and proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization
- Approximately 30% travel in future
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, or technology. Master’s degree or higher is desired.
- Some capture and/or solution architect experience to help identify and create science and technology (S&T) programs within government health civilian and military market spaces is desired.
