HHS seeks SIIM Director

As the Office of Security, Intelligence & Information Management (SIIM) Director, the incumbent serves as the Deputy for the Incident Command and Control and provides executive advisory service to the Deputy Assistant Secretary Incident Command and Control in the executive direction of a staff responsible for the Division of Intelligence, the Division of Security, the Division of Critical Infrastructure Protection (PIC), the Information Management Division (IMD). 

Responsibilities: 

  • The Director is responsible for the Division of Intelligence which leads the integration of public health and medical intelligence with response operations to enhance ASPR and U.S. Government’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from current and emerging 21st century threats to national health security. SIIM Intelligence Division connects ASPR decision makers with the right intelligence that helps them do their jobs better. 
  • The Director is responsible for the Division of Security which leads personnel suitability, national security clearance management, and physical security for national stockpile assets and has a world class emergency response workforce that exceeds expectations through transparent and accountable personnel and physical security services. 
  • The Director is responsible for the Division of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) which leads the Healthcare and Public Health Sector – one of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors identified in Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21). Collaboration and information sharing between the public and private sectors is a key component in preparedness and response because the majority of healthcare sector assets are privately owned and operated. CIP builds resilience against risks to the national health infrastructure by coordinating an expansive network of collaborative partners, sharing information on potential and ongoing risks, using data to mitigate those risks, and supporting effective emergency response and recovery. 
  • The Director is responsible for the Information Management Division (IMD) which collects, analyzes and shares information in a way that can be easily accessed, clearly understood and seamlessly shared to provide situational awareness and decision support.
