“The incumbent is responsible for the evaluation, design, security, and improvement of technology solutions to support and advance scientific and business processes, goals, and strategic objectives through the continuous development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture and secure IT solutions. The incumbent also strengthens programs in surveillance, research, prevention, and evaluation with innovative integration of information technology and science with public health science.”
Duties:
- “Translate organizational leadership and identify business needs to create infrastructure that aligns with IT strategies and planning of the Division’s overall public health goals.
- Conceive, plan, and coordinate the implementation and evaluation of the Division and Center’s overall integration of health information systems.
- Provide strategic leadership and consultation across the Enterprise as the expert in new and emerging information technology tools, platforms, methods, and architecture best practices.
- Work with IT technologists and program leaders to incorporate Agency/Company objectives, goals, and processes into the architecture and maintain consistency of technology across the Enterprise.
- Serve as the Division Lead for data modernization, working with Center and Agency leadership to migrate Division and Center processes to a cloud environment, use of data lakes, and to transition the Division to new surveillance system approaches using data integration platforms.
- Provide leadership oversight and guidance to ensure risk management of information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies.
- Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, when necessary.”
