VA seeking Director, Information Security Policy and Compliance Division

“This position Is located in the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Office of Information Security (OIS), Information Security Policy and Compliance Division. This position serves as the Director, Information Security Policy and Compliance Division and is organized under the Office of the Executive Director, Information Security Policy and Strategy through the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Information Security.”

“Major Duties: 

  • Oversees and directs the development of an information security policy and compliance strategic plan and program. 
  • Establishes long, and short, range plans for information security policy and compliance programs. 
  • Oversees and directs the Department -wide cyber security annual review of VA IT Systems to ensure security controls are functioning as documented and that remediation efforts are validated. 
  • Ensures VA cybersecurity policies are compliant with regulatory requirements and legislated mandates governing those programs. 
  • Oversees the review of information technology procurements and IT projects to ensure cyber security is included in the full life cycle of all procurements and projects under the purview of OIT.”
