CDC ATSDR seeking Data Resources and IT Lead 

“This position is responsible for data resources and information technology management in support of informatics, research and development efforts for new information technologies, architectures, IT security measures, and systems.” 

“As a Computer Scientist (Informatics) you will: 

  • Serve as the leader for integrating computer science theory and fundamentals with emerging informatics and technology standards, public health practices and policies to strengthen the CIO’s mission. 
  • Assume responsibility for seeking, identifying, and recommending innovative, practical, and cost-effective applications of cutting-edge information technology in programs and activities. 
  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture to support and advance mission, goals, and strategic objectives. 
  • Lead the CDC/CIO Enterprise Architecture Program Management Activities Area to prioritize, develop, and maintain baseline and target architecture and sequencing plan, aligning with CDC goals, HHS enterprise architecture, the Federal Enterprise Architecture, and appropriate Health and Federal initiatives. 
  • Translate organizational leadership and identified business needs to create infrastructure that aligns with IT strategies and planning of overall public health goals. 
  • Provide strategic leadership and consultation across the CIO and Agency as the expert in new and emerging information technology tools, platforms, methods, and architecture best practices. 
  • Work with IT technologists and program leaders to incorporate Agency objectives, goals, and processes into the architecture and maintain consistency of technology across the Agency.”

CDC seeking Health Scientist (Informatics) 

“The purpose of the position is overall development; facilitating adoption; security of architectural patterns; common services; incorporating public health informatics models across the CIO.” 

“As a Health Scientist (Informatics) you will: 

  • Serve as the leader for integrating emerging informatics and technology standards, public health practices and policies to strengthen the organization’s mission. 
  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture to support and advance the Centers mission, goals, and strategic objectives. 
  • Lead CIO Enterprise Architecture Program Management Activities Area to prioritize, develop, and maintain baseline and target architecture and sequencing plan, aligning with CDC goals, HHS enterprise architecture, the Federal Enterprise Architecture, and appropriate Health and Federal initiatives. 
  • Provide direct consultation and involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that steer the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise (including HHS, and CIO). 
  • Work with IT technologists and program leaders to incorporate Agency objectives, goals, and processes into the architecture and maintain consistency of technology across the Agency. 
  • Advise top level management as well as high level HHS management regarding information systems. 
  • Serve as CIO expert to collaborate with CDC & HHS in evaluating business and scientific information systems and planning and designing HHS-wide systems. 
  • Provide design and architecture expertise for scientific data management on Department-wide and agency-wide systems.
