CDC taps permanent Deputy Director for Public Health Science and Surveillance

Armed with more than a decade supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including recent experience responsible for 320 people executing a broad scientific program to improve the detection, prevention, treatment, and response to seasonal, novel, and pandemic influenza, this leader takes on a new challenge in which he will be responsible for the CDC’s Data Modernization Initiative, a broad activity to transform the U.S. public health information ecosystem.
