Dr. Jorge Ferrer, an industry leader who has practiced healthcare informatics since 2000 within the U.S. Federal government with expertise in health informatics policy, standards, perioperative care informatics, innovations, interoperability, and distributed ledger technology (blockchain), has taken on a new challenge as Informatics Health System Specialist at the Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Health Informatics (OHI) Clinical Informatics and Data Management Office (CIDMO) Health Solutions Management (HSM). Prior to Veterans Health Administration, he was a Medical Officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and served as a technical advisor to the Consolidated Health Informatics eGov initiative to establish federal health information interoperability standards.
