CDC recruits DOD Health Data SME to serve as first Chief Data Officer

After 16 years with industry supporting the Department of Defense on a range of data, data science, and population health informatics initiatives, this established industry leader returns to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where he will serve as Chief Data Officer (CDO) in support of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) focused on providing leadership to position CDC within the larger data science and advanced health science communities, ensuring that public health benefits from and contributes to impactful and ethical use of data for discovery, innovation, application, and health improvement.
