OEHRM provides program management oversight, infrastructure and system modernization, and legacy system integration to enable health information technology (IT) product installation and facilitate the adoption of new health IT products at VA as they relate to the implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) Modernization system.”
“Responsibilities
- The Chief of Staff advises and assists the Executive Director, Office Electronic Health Records Modernization (OHERM) on matters relating to department-wide major initiatives. The responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and directing of all administrative, financial, human capital, and operational activities for OEHRM.
- The incumbent leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive, cohesive and robust, business-driven approach to OEHRM’s operations and services by establishing and deploying operational criteria, methodologies and business processes that ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to new health IT products and solutions.
- The Chief of Staff develops procedures and operational processes designed to achieve short and long term goals that are consistent with OEHRM’s overall Workforce Management plans and objectives.
- The Chief of Staff participates in all aspects of OEHRM’s activities involving organizational and management matters concerning activities of the office, including organizational redesign. Develops and recommends effective and efficient internal management controls and administrative practices in OEHRM to assure that duplication and overlapping functions in areas of responsibility are avoided and to ensure maximum use of all resources.”
