“The Executive Director (ED) VA Logistics Redesign (VALOR) responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff assigned to a major interagency program of national scope, interest, and significance. Contributes to planning, directing, integrating, and executing all aspects of VHA’s logistics program, including achieving cost, schedule, performance and /or system supportability requirements.
- Executive Director for VALOR reports directly to the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Support Services. Provides executive level direction and policy guidance, requiring exceptional managerial competence and technical expertise in the planning, coordination and management of specific logistics programs in consonance with higher level program directives. Develops, advises senior leadership, and implements unique operational and legislative requirements. Formulates and provides strategies, broad policy, and guidance governing development and execution of mission critical Veterans Health Administration Modernization priorities.
- Interprets directives, requirements and program authorizations issued by higher echelons to ensure the VA Logistics Redesign Program uses the most effective business practices. Represents the Office of Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Support Services to all major internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, VHA, VA Community, national agencies including Department of Defense, Congress, Office of the Inspector General, Governmental Accountability Office and industry organizations. Advises on, presents or defends status of VALOR and relevant related programs.”
