Since the COVID-19 crisis began, GRSi has been providing critical response support to federal clients that are on the frontlines of the pandemic. From the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to the Department of Defense (DoD) and the intelligence community, GRSi has been working around the clock to ensure that mission-critical federal employees have the resources they need to sustain operations and overcome unprecedented challenges.
A primary technology support provider for 10 NIH Institutes and Centers, GRSi is working to ensure that scientists and clinicians have the tools they need. GRSi technologists are a crucial element of the support chain: from the NIH Clinical Center that cares for active COVID-19 infections; to the Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) working impacted heart and blood factors; to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) working implications for cancer and compromised individuals; to the Office of Occupational Medical Services (OMS) charged with the safety of all who work at the NIH.
GRSi is providing bioinformatics, infrastructure, COVID-19 information center, development, cyber security, and more, at above and beyond levels to meet the demands on the NIH during this crisis. From rapid response “white glove” support across Intramural Research Programs for Principal Investigators (PIs) and laboratories, to enabling secure and seamless access to systems that previously could not have been accessed remotely.
While many agencies have implemented a maximum telework schedule for the safety of all, many mission-critical functions require personnel to continue to work onsite, and GRSi has been with them every step of the way. This includes embedded technologists at various NIH operations, as well as GRSi’s defense and intelligence teams who are diligently doing their part to keep our nation and allies safe from bad actors during this challenging time. For the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency and Military Health System, GRSi is fielding Biomedical Engineers and Biomedical Equipment Technicians who work on the front lines managing and certifying life-saving medical equipment ranging from ventilators and defibrillators to infusers and diagnostic equipment – critical components to combat the current COVID-19 challenge, as well as future crises.
“GRSi has numerous teams – all essential support – working the frontline of research, treatment, defense, and medical equipment management. We’re proud of our people’s commitment and honored to be a part of our clients’ missions. We at GRSi know firsthand, from our clients and our people, that not all superheroes wear capes – and we could not be more proud and honored to be a part of the incredible work that they are doing,” said David Affeldt, GRSi President and CEO.
