FAA Sources Sought: Office of Aerospace Medicine/Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Software

Solicitation: AAQ-731

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), Occupational Health Clinic and the Headquarters Health Unit provide basic support to FAA employees and contractors. The CAMI Occupational Health Clinic has a mix of physicians, nurses, physician assistance and other health professionals who provide a varied set of health care needs as outlined in the attached Draft Statement of Work (SOW). The purpose of this market survey is to understand current market conditions, availability, interest and capability in the provision of a firm-fixed contract of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software system to support the government’s requirement in full.

On June 2nd and  3rd, 2020, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), Occupational Health Clinic and the Headquarters Health Unit will be entertaining Virtual Demonstrations by all interested parties per the FAA’s EMR Market Survey/Sources Sought posted on February 20, 2020.

General User Requirements

  1. The product must be web-enabled so that users can easily access it from the internet and/or the FAA intranet.
  2. The product must be browser agnostic so that it is fully functional on FAA’s current standard web browser configurations and is adaptable to future changes in web browser technology so users are less impacted by rapid changes in web browser technology.
  3. The product must comply with FAA’s standards for Templates and Branding, so the end user has a predictable experience, consistent with other FAA applications.
  4. The product must provide full functionality whether being used on a desktop workstation or laptop. Ability to use software on a mobile device (tablet or phone), issued by the FAA, is preferred, but not required…

Patient Check-in Requirements

  1. The product must allow patients to check in electronically so that the reason for their visit remains private. Ideally, this would include the ability to check-in using the Federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card issued to FAA employees.
  2. The product must auto-populate the current date at check-in.
  3. The product must allow the patient to check-in multiple times in a day, if needed…
