This contract will support training to enable practitioners to meet the DATA waiver qualifications and to support the credentialing and waiver process has been in operation since 2000. This Statement of Work is for a re-competition of a contract to support continued processing of physician waiver notifications, refining the Buprenorphine Waiver Notification System, and maintaining and improving the Buprenorphine Practitioner Locator System.
Generally, this project consists of a specialized electronic application system, a database that populates a treatment locator, a website that provides buprenorphine information, a web board for practitioner discussion, and a Help Desk. All components work together to insure that practitioners who wish to become waivered to treat patients with an opioid use disorder using buprenorphine can do so if they meet requirements set out in DATA 2000 regulations.
More specifically the contract consists of (1) the acceptance and document research of electronic applications and the maintenance of the Buprenorphine Waiver Processing System (BWNS); (2) providing help desk support for applicants and the public during normal business hours; (3) the maintenance of the buprenorphine website, a physician web board, the practitioner data base that populates a treatment locator; and (4) requested “ad hoc” reports, ie; the current number of practitioner in Kentucky that are waivered, or the number of waivered physicians from 2002-2019 in York County, PA.
