“IMPAQ was selected by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to create a comprehensive synthetic health care database to enable researchers and entrepreneurs to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in the health care system.”
“Synthetic data are detailed records created to improve the utility of analytic files while preventing the disclosure of confidential information. IMPAQ, with support from partners NORC at the University of Chicago and ASCEND, will create new synthetic data sets based on claims from government and commercial health insurance plans. These data will facilitate analyses that reflect a comprehensive view of the use of health services across the United States.”
“The nationally representative dataset is expected to improve transparency in the cost and quality of healthcare. It will also facilitate benchmarking for hospitals and payers interested in improving quality and outcomes for their patients and communities…” Read the full press release here.
