A Top Management Challenge for HHS, as identified by OIG in 2018, is the need to ensure program integrity and quality of care in programs serving AI/AN communities which are disproportionately and adversely affected by the opioid abuse epidemic. The focus of HHS OIG is not only aimed at program integrity but has a major emphasis on the health and welfare of beneficiaries assisted by these programs.”
