CMS seeking Director for Medicaid and CHIP Operations Group (MCOG)

“As the Director, Medicaid and CHIP Operations Group (MCOG), you will provide leadership and executive direction for program operations areas within CMCS and serve as the local point of contact for assistance with formulation, coordination, integration, and implementation of national program policies and operations relating to Medicaid and CHIP.” 

“Responsibilities 

  • Leads CMS interactions and collaboration relating to Medicaid and CHIP with the States and the stakeholder community. 
  • Implements national policies for Medicaid and CHIP programs and monitoring state compliance with Federal requirements. 
  • Assists State agencies carrying out their responsibilities for effective program administration and beneficiary protection. 
  • Supports States in correcting problems and improving the quality of their operations. 
  • Works in collaboration with other CMCS Groups to ensure consistent application of Medicaid policies. 
  • Coordinates with the Center for Program Integrity on the identification of program vulnerabilities and implementation of strategies to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse. 
  • Coordinates with external offices within the agency to ensure consistency of national messaging across program areas, and with external partners.
