OSEHRA and Conference Sponsor Perspecta have announced the program for the 2019 OSEHRA Summit, to be held July 9-10 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. This year’s Plenary Speakers represent over a dozen Federal Agencies and Organizations convening to highlight current open source initiatives and the increasing level of public-private partnership in major departments and programs.
As more programs opt for cloud-based solutions and software-as-a-service delivery models, open source software has become key to both implementation and interoperability. This year’s theme, Open SaaS – Open Source in the Cloud, will address ways to optimize innovation and modernization by way of open source utilization and community involvement. Achievements from the past year will be showcased through engaging plenary sessions, breakout track sessions, and roundtable discussions.

The Plenary Session will feature a demonstration by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Agency (SAMHSA) of their state-of-the-art open source software package, Omnibus Care Plan (OCP). Additional sessions will feature leading-edge topics including Synthetic Patient Data, Open Source Ecosystems, Open Source APIs and Standards, Machine Learning and Analytics, Imaging and Analytics, and Innovation with VistA.
