“Mission Act is not libertarian VA. It is not giving veterans a card, saying thank you very much and sending them out in the private sector,” Wilkie said. “What the Mission Act does is it gives the veteran an option if this hospital doesn’t provide a particular service that veteran needs. If the service isn’t available, they look at options that are available in the private sector should that veteran decide to avail themselves of those services. Or they have the choice to wait…”
