Synectics awarded subcontract to support Cancer Moonshot – Leveraging Health Data Usage

Synectics for Management Decisions, Inc. (Synectics) has received a subcontract from Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. (Leidos Biomed) to perform a Landscape Analysis of Privacy Preserving Patient Record Linkage Software under the Cancer MoonshotSM. This effort is administered by the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and operated by Leidos Biomed.

The focus of the analysis will be to assess products which can be used to enable and support patient-level linkages across disparate data sources, enabling cross-database analyses while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality. “Future breakthroughs in cancer research will be based on discovery across heterogeneous, independently created data sources such as genomic data, clinical imaging, and electronic health records,” explained Jesse Aronson, Executive Technology Director at Synectics. “We are pleased to be supporting Frederick National Laboratory in researching tools that identify record linkages in a secure, privacy-protecting manner across data sets and platforms.” See the full post here.
