The Automated Surveyor Processing Environment (ASPEN) is a comprehensive information system that fully supports CMS’ Survey and Certification processes, data collection and enforces CMS business rules. The current CMS ASPEN environment supports the daily activities of more than 6,000 users, including central office, regional office, and state survey agencies.
CMS intends to enter into a sole source contracting arrangment, with ALPINE Technology Group (ATG) to provide the above services until such time as the IQIES system is able to take over this necessary functionality.
