“Liberty IT Solutions, LLC has been awarded a task order by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to sustain and modernize the Genomic Information System for Integrated Science 2.0 (GenISIS-2), a central infrastructure for providing genomic data management and analysis for research operations. This 5-year (12-month base and four 12-month option periods) task order potentially amounts to $10.8 million, inclusive of options.”
“Liberty will provide continued sustainment for GenISIS-2, a key component of the VA’s Million Veteran Program (MVP), a groundbreaking program which invites users of the VA healthcare system nationwide to participate in a longitudinal study with the aim of better understanding the interrelation of genetic characteristics, behaviors and environmental factors, and Veteran’s health.”
“Liberty will be joined by two partners, Initiate Government Solutions (IGS) and ManTech, on key tasks including the development of new functional interoperability between GenISIS-2, the Veterans Informatic and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI), and other GenISIS systems. IGS has been supporting VINCI since its inception. In addition, Liberty will also work to establish a separate Authority to Operate (ATO) for GenISIS-2. Previously included with the Region 2 ATO, VA now looks for the GenISIS-2 system to establish its own, a task Liberty understands is of supreme importance. Liberty will work to obtain the necessary artifacts to receive the ATO approval while keeping data secure and maintaining VA’s Security Standards…”
